Aristotelous, is in the heart of Thessaloniki. It is a pedestrian area which starts from the escalade and reaches Egnatia street. Above Egnatia the visitor will also have an opportunity to see the ancient Roman Market inside which its Museum operates. Aristotelus square is always busy with people from all ages walking up and down, drinking coffees, eating desserts, ice-creams and having their meals. There are also some shops along side and souvenir shops. This is a square were major events in the city take place and it is the square were Thessaloniki’s Christmas tree and christmass market takes place. Walking from Egnatia Street to the escalade the visitor can enjoy the beautiful view of the sea and the old buildings which were built at the beginning of the 20th century (after the big fire in Thessaloniki (1917) destroyed its center). In Aristotelous square the municipality of Thessaloniki has some stands from where the people can buy tickets for various cultural events and concerts that take place in the city.
